Euralarm Industry Forum explores resilience and assisted living in a changing Europe
The morning sessions focused on resilience in an increasingly complex world. Paul van der Zanden, Euralarm General Director, outlined how geopolitical developments, technological innovation, demographic change and growing strategic dependencies are reshaping Europe and reinforcing the need for resilient societies and infrastructure. Carlos Perez, Technical Manager at Euralarm, explored the shift from traditional risk management towards a resilience-based approach to protecting critical infrastructure, while Catherine Piana, Director General of CoESS, highlighted the value of stronger public-private collaboration in safeguarding Europe's essential services.
Attention then turned to Europe's demographic challenge and the growing demand for solutions that enable people to live safely and independently for longer. Anja Schäfers examined the demographic trends driving change across healthcare and long-term care, while Andreas Brenner demonstrated how assisted living technologies can support independent living through integrated safety, security and care solutions. Benoît Stockbroeckx concluded the forum by explaining how social alarming, assisted living technologies and the wider safety and security ecosystem can be combined to deliver trusted, reliable services for citizens.
The presentations illustrated how the fire safety and security industry is expanding its role beyond protecting buildings and infrastructure to supporting resilient communities and improving quality of life across Europe. Download the presentations below:
