Euralarm updates fact sheet on Cyber Resilience Act product classification

Euralarm has published an updated version of its fact sheet Electronic fire safety and security products in the context of important and critical products defined by the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

The document helps manufacturers and other industry stakeholders understand how electronic fire safety and security products are classified under the CRA and which conformity assessment procedures apply.

The updated fact sheet explains the distinction between default, important and critical products, with practical examples covering intrusion detection, fire detection and electronic access control systems. The latest revision includes an additional clarification concerning cloud-based software used to manage remote access to electronic access control systems. This helps manufacturers determine whether such software falls within the Important Class I category under the CRA.

With the CRA's main requirements becoming applicable on 11 December 2027, correct product classification is essential for manufacturers preparing for compliance.
