Euralarm presentation during FSSA Annual Conference
The FSSA is comprised of a blend of designer/installers, manufacturers, consultants, academics, and suppliers working together to share ideas and strategies for the benefit of the fire suppression systems industry. The association has representatives who serve on 47 NFPA committees on behalf of the association and for the industry.
Just like the Euralarm Extinguishing Section the FSSA Technical Committee has invested in new guidance documents over the past year. With new guidelines being published on total flooding, water mist and hybrid systems, there are three more guidelines in the pipeline.
This year the FSSA celebrated its 40th anniversary during its Annual Forum. As part of the program a number of Concurrent Sessions were organised on February 20th. Dominique Taudin, Chair of Euralarm's Advocacy Committee, presented the differences between European and US standards and regulations during one of the Technical Tracks.
As part of his presentation he shared an overview of Euralarm, its relationships and the main projects and European standardisation developments and regulatory framework both from a fire detection and fire extinguishing point of view. He also gave an overview of the differences between the relevant NFPA and EN standards as well as the differences between the relevant UL and ISO/EN test methods and parameters for clean agent systems.
