The European Industry Day was the occasion for a major conference held in Brussels on February 28th, with over 400 participants from all areas of Industry. The conference reviewed the current EU initiatives but also debated new ideas on a joint vision for the long-term future of European industry.
Euralarm President Enzo Peduzzi and General Director Glen Dale took part in an open discussion where many aspects of how to support Industry better were presented and discussed, including the impact of Digitalisation, Small and Medium Sized Enterprise (SME) access to technologies, industrial transformation in European regions, the circular economy and how to help SMEs grow through funding amongst other issues.
President of the EU Commission Jean-Claude Juncker opened the conference with a video message before handing over to Elżbieta Bieńkowska, the EUCommissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, to set the scene for a beneficial discussion on how to support Industry in Europe better. Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen, EU Commissioner for Research and Innovation Carlos Moedas also gave insight supported by the many speakers from the Committee of Regions, The European Investment bank, European Parliament, Business Europe, the European Roundtable of Industrialists and the European Trade Union Confederation amongst others.

Zug, Switzerland, April 5th, 2017 – Speakers at the Euralarm Symposium 2017 have been announced. The event will take place at the Kensington Close Hotel in London on May 8th, 2017. It will gather fire and security professional installers, system integrators, manufacturers, end users, facility and property managers and certification bodies.
Euralarm will be represented at the CEN-CENELEC StandarDays 2017, which will take place in Brussels at the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre on 20-21 April. Participants in this public event will receive a structured overview of the European Standardisation System, CEN-CENELEC products and processes, as well as the benefits of stakeholder involvement.
Zug, Switzerland, March 22nd 2017 – Registration is now open for the Euralarm Symposium taking place at the Kensington Close Hotel in London on May 8th 2017. An ‘early bird’ rate applies until March 31st. The Symposium will focus on the future of fire and security services across Europe and turning the digital service market into business opportunities.
Mr. Keith Shinn has been elected Chairman of ISO/TC 21/SC 3. This technical body part of the International Organisation for Standardisation deals with the field of Fire detection and alarm systems and related work on terminology, classification and symbols, as well as approval of advisory documents relating to the general principles and application of equipment and apparatus for fire protection.
