Broadband IP based signalling is an accepted solution and many companies have been providing these signaling services for a long time, in some cases over 10 years.
Therefore, there are several IP signalling Alarm Transmission Systems Providers (ATSP) who have mature products & services deployed in Europe. Over 100 000 Broadband based alarm systems are currently connected within Europe.
The Alarm Transmission Systems (ATS) should be specified and installed with products meeting the requirements of the EN 50136 series of standards and labelled with certification marks.

Euralarm co-signed a letter of 27 organisations active in the field of fire security to Commissioner Moedas. Following the recommendations from the International Association for Fire Safety Science, the organisations call for more resources dedicated to EU fire safety research in Horizon Europe.
The European fire and security Industry has now strengthened its voice at European level and consolidated its European representation, in preparation for upcoming challenges at regulatory, technological and political levels. The new section within Euralarm will help shape the future of the fire extinguishing business segment of the Industry.
More and more building owners and managers are outsourcing the maintenance of their buildings and systems to specialised facility management companies. By doing so, the fire safety and security systems are often bundled together with other types of systems into one maintenance service contract. This approach not only lowers the costs but also reduces the number of service suppliers. However, the maintaining of fire safety and security system services by generalist service suppliers also brings the risk of non-specialists becoming responsible for the maintenance of fire safety and security services.
The tourism industry is very important for Europe, contributing substantially to member states’ economies. EU citizens and tourists coming from abroad have a right to expect a high and consistent level of protection in their accommodation when travelling within the European Union.
