On March 16th at the Hotel Bloom in Brussels, a stakeholder workshop, organised by CEN-CENELEC will take place to focus on security and cybersecurity, a pillar of the European standardisation platform’s annual work programme.
Registrations are now open for this event, where Euralarm will be represented. Euralarm members are kindly invited to register online before 13 March 2017.

The event will cover the following issues:
• proliferation of different national market conditions;
• bewildering choice of competitive cyber solutions;
• selecting optimum standardisation solutions for their specific needs, including international options.
• Additionally, in future industry will have to comply with the new European policy framework including the Directive on Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS Directive) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Smart cities will also be covered in a specific session.
The aim of the workshop is to launch a dialogue and to better understand industry's standardisation needs to ensure the continuity of their operation through prevention, protection and response measures from the organization, process and technology levels.
The input received will shape the CEN and CENELEC standardisation roadmap for the security sector.
Euralarm, the European trade association of the electronic fire safety and security Industry, has published its Annual Report 2016-2017. The report underlines the impact of the association on the future of standardisation, electroninc fire safety, security and associated services.
The 9th edition of the A.R.T.S. National Conference in Bucharest, Romania will focus on the Social Value of Security Services. A topic that is also core to Euralarm’s Mission and Strategy. A.R.T.S. is Euralarm Member and a national association for the Industry of ‘Security Technique’.
Euralarm Members have long been involved in the development of European standards. But when such a standard is published, a new story begins with its implementation at national level.
Euralarm will be represented at the CEN-CENELEC StandarDays 2017, which will take place in Brussels at the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre on 20-21 April. Participants in this public event will receive a structured overview of the European Standardisation System, CEN-CENELEC products and processes, as well as the benefits of stakeholder involvement.
Euralarm closely monitors developments in cyber security, which was one of the key topics of the 2016 Symposium. It will also figure high on the agenda for this year’s edition of the event which will explore, among other topics, digital services in fire and security electronics.
