CEN-CENELEC Annual Report 2017 published

27 June 2018

CEN-CENELEC published its 2017 annual report and the main highlights testify of the motion that has been set towards a deep transformation of European Standardisation to serve the evolving market and technological needs.

European standardisation has been an effective contributor to achieving some of Europe’s economic and societal objectives, at a time when our economy is slowly recovering from the crisis. CEN and CENELEC have contributed directly to many of the priorities under Europe 2020 strategy, amongst other related to jobs and growth, the Digital Single Market, the Internal Market, and the Energy Union and Climate. At the heart of this lie CEN-CENELEC's strategic plans on Digital Transformation, on Innovation, and on standardisation of Services, under which much progress was achieved in 2017. 'Physical' security and cybersecurity also figure prominently in the report.
