Euralarm attended the 14th General Assembly of CEN, which took place in Bled, Slovenia on June 20th and 21st and was hosted by SIST, the Slovenian Institute for Standardisation.
In April 2018 compared with March 2018, seasonally adjusted production in the construction sector increased by 1.8% in the euro area (EA19) and by 1.2% in the EU28, according to first estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In March 2018, production in construction fell by 0.2% in the euro area and by 0.8% in the EU28.

The 50th General Assembly of Euralarm, the European association representing the fire safety and security Industry, closed today. As a new Board and Managing Director were introduced, Delegates from national associations and blue-chip companies acknowledged that the Industry is more unified, better integrated into European decision-making processes.
Euralarm has released today its Annual Report. The publication of the report coincides with the end of the Euralarm Board’s three-year mandate and therefore, beyond the usual account of the past year’s activities, it also offers a review of the work achieved during that three-year period, particularly in terms of invigorating the Euralarm community.
This year was divided between organisational and administrative issues, and innovation and growth. On the business side, we can report an ongoing growth in membership, and of course the opening of the new Extinguishing Section.Our Advocacy, Marketing and Horizontal Compliance Committees have boosted our presence in ‘Brussels’ and in the international press, monitored developments in standardisation and informed our Members through highly appreciated newsletters. The growth in membership continued with Teletek as a new Industry Member in the Fire Section and BHE extending it membership from the Services also to the Fire and Security Sections.
