European standardisation and research are closely linked. Nevertheless, today they do not interact sufficiently to maximize synergies and benefits with respect to innovation. To bridge this gap between Research, Innovation and Standardisation, the interactive European project 'BRIDGIT 2' invovling Euralarm's partner CEN-CENELEC was created.
Euralarm has long supported the idea that ‘Smart cities’ should include aspects of fire safety and security. European cities face an increasing frequency and intensity of hazards and disasters, which are exacerbated by climate change and social dynamics, such as demographic change and an ageing population.
On 11 October 2018, the European Commission adopted its annual Union Work Programme for European standardisation for 2019.
On Monday 22 October 2018, CEN-CENELEC organises a one-day workshop on the topic: Harmonised European Standards under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) - Essentials for drafting standards.
The European Committee for Standardisation (CEN) and Euralarm strengthen their cooperation to make society safer and more secure.
