Euralarm will be represented at the CEN-CENELEC StandarDays 2017, which will take place in Brussels at the CEN-CENELEC Management Centre on 20-21 April. Participants in this public event will receive a structured overview of the European Standardisation System, CEN-CENELEC products and processes, as well as the benefits of stakeholder involvement.
Zug, Switzerland, March 22nd 2017 – Registration is now open for the Euralarm Symposium taking place at the Kensington Close Hotel in London on May 8th 2017. An ‘early bird’ rate applies until March 31st. The Symposium will focus on the future of fire and security services across Europe and turning the digital service market into business opportunities.
Euralarm closely monitors developments in cyber security, which was one of the key topics of the 2016 Symposium. It will also figure high on the agenda for this year’s edition of the event which will explore, among other topics, digital services in fire and security electronics.
The CRISP Final Conference was held on March 16th in Brussels, Belgium. The FP7-funded project CRISP - Evaluation and Certification Schemes for Security Products - aimed to develop a novel evaluation and certification methodology for security systems that integrates technical, social and legal dimensions as assessment criteria.
Mr. Keith Shinn has been elected Chairman of ISO/TC 21/SC 3. This technical body part of the International Organisation for Standardisation deals with the field of Fire detection and alarm systems and related work on terminology, classification and symbols, as well as approval of advisory documents relating to the general principles and application of equipment and apparatus for fire protection.

With the development of IP communications Video Content Analytics has migrated is now also applied in mid-range products, increasing market-size for quality and reliable solutions.
Video Surveillance Systems (VSS) are covered by a number of standards initially generated by the European platform for electrotechnical standardisation CENELEC within the Technical Body TC79.
Registrations are now open for the second edition of the APSEI Open Day dedicated to Security that will take place on April 5, in Sacavem, near Lisbon. This year’s edition will focus on the Integration of Security Systems.
