This year was divided between organisational and administrative issues, and innovation and growth. On the business side, we can report an ongoing growth in membership, and of course the opening of the new Extinguishing Section. Our Advocacy, Marketing and Horizontal Compliance Committees have boosted our presence in ‘Brussels’ and in the international press, monitored developments in standardisation and informed our Members through highly appreciated newsletters. The growth in membership continued with Teletek as a new Industry Member in the Fire Section and BHE extending it membership from the Services also to the Fire and Security Sections.
After building-up its new organisation, in 2016-2017, Euralarm could draw the first benefits and strengthened its voice in Brussels. It has been invited to join the Joint Initiative on Standardisation where the issues discussed are similar to those addressed in our 2014 ‘Market Driven Standardisation’ paper.
The year 2014 has proven to be another eventful year. Euralarm consolidated her position as an industry expert to the EU Commission. Steps were taken to reinforce our influence into the standardisation process by consolidating our partnership with Orgalime, as an Associate Member, participating more actively in their standardisation work.
