CEN issued on July 23 the draft resolution BT 85/2010 asking the member states, if they are in favour of starting a Joint Project Committee (JPC) to work on a European Standard for Services for Fire Safety & Security Systems.
DIN, together with DKE, the German National Standardization Bodies, have filed the formal proposal to create this joint CEN-CENELEC Project Committee under the lead of CEN.
This is fully in line with the decision of the EURALARM Board to promote the development of a European Standard to establish as a base for the quality and competencies of companies and their employees providing services like planning and design, engineering, installation and hand-over, maintenance and repair of fire safety and/or security systems.
Euralarm Service Section invites all members to get in contact with the National Standardization Bodies to support the creation of this Joint Project Committee and to be prepared to delegate experts into this Committee once it will start operation.
The deadline for the answer of the National Bodies to CEN is October 19, 2010
Euralarm is convinced that the further development of Services, is one of the most important segments out of our sector. It will only be possible if we are able to create a level playing field for providers of high quality services for fire safety & security systems.
