Euralarm has reorganized its structure in the recent year. In this course lobbying was introduced as a new Technical Committee. The goal is the representation of the Euralarm position and to influence political decisions. The Technical Committee Lobbying is the service provider on behalf of the Euralarm Board offering appropriate tools and the right platform. It is the controller and coordinator of the Euralarm lobbying activities and is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the internal and external network for an efficient lobbying. The mission of Euralarm is to be recognized through its expertise as the European voice of the electronic fire & security market and to grow and develop the market conditions for our members.
The current market conditions can be distinguished with a growing safety awareness but also a very low market awareness of the electronic fire & security industry. We have highly regulated markets in Europe. Especially fragmented markets are predominate with many national regulations where each product needs a multiple certification in each market. Other industries e.g. defence, IT and guarding are expanding into our markets. Furthermore, large scale investments by the EU Commission do not affect our market at this time yet and there is too much reliance on man power and not enough on electronics. To face these market conditions in a positive way we have developed a Euralarm lobbying strategy: We need to ensure that our voice is heard. For this alliances and networks are the base. Euralarm takes the position as the source of information to our industry and is an indispensable partner to EU officials. Due to the fact that lobbying in Brussels cant be done as successfully by national members we need a pan-European lobbying.
Every single mission of the Section Committee is transferred by lobbying. To transfer these messages Euralarm speaks with one voice to develop a common position for Euralarm. We need to get political support by taking up contact with key decision-makers to create public awareness. Our industry and political stakeholders should be well-aware of Euralarm, its goals and benefits.
